Zahn-Marion Township Library Completes 2024 Summer Reading Program…“Adventure Begins at Your Library” – Mercer County Outlook

(7-18-24) On July 17th, the Zahn-Marion Township Library completed its 2024 summer reading program, “Adventure Begins at Your Library” with a party to celebrate, held at the Marion Local Elementary gym in Maria Stein.

The top two readers in grades one through five were announced at the party.  They are first-grade – Calvin Homan with 1,450 points and Claire Alexander with 1,400 points; second grade – Chloe Luebke with 2,400 points and Myles Homan with 2,130 points; third-grade – Isaac Redd with 2,790 points and Beau Alexander with 1,600 points; fourth-grade – Trayson Stachler with 4,210 points and Alaina Brown with 1,540 points; fifth-grade – Laina Koesters with 2,720 points and Alaris Poeppelman with 1,420 points.  The top readers each received an “Adventure Begins at Your Library” t-shirt for their accomplishment.

Entertainment at the party was provided by Indiana Wild.

 The program concluded with prizes, awards and certificates for all the summer reading participants.  Everyone was congratulated for all their hard work. 

The library would like to thank the Chickasaw Fire Department for providing fire truck rides to children going into grades 1 thru 5 that reached 350 points or more and the Marion Township Trustees for allowing us to put a scavenger hunt along the bike path again this year and everyone who participated in it.
