Travel & Leisure reports that St. Pete is the “Best Food City in the US”

Another day, another accolade. A recent article by Travel & Leisure states that the “gorgeous coastal Florida destination” that is St. Pete is the “top food city in America.”

The article cites a new roundup by InsureMyTrip. The source itself seems dubious at best, but we’re always down to celebrate our local restaurant scene, and will always jump at the chance to tell everyone to “eat and support local.” That is especially true during the slower summer months down here.

To determine the top foodie destinations in the United States, InsureMyTrip analyzed data from 99 of the most populated cities. They looked at the average restaurant ratings, the number of cafes and bakeries, the availability of farmers’ markets, and the prices of cooking classes. Based on this research, St. Petersburg, Florida, emerged as the best spot for food enthusiasts. We’re thinking the plethora of farmers markets in the area helped set the city apart.

This of course is just my list of spots and it doesn’t even begin to cover half of the destinations close to my heart in St. Pete.

I highly recommend you leave glowing reviews on Google of the restaurants you love in the city. It’s an easy and free way to help out the spots we cherish in the city. Share this story, or just shoutout to the local hub you think everyone needs to visit on social media.

You can also always shoot an email to info@ilovethburg.com and let us know where you think we should dine next.
