Grand Island duo medal in Adventure Race at Cornhusker State Games

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) – The 2024 Cornhusker State Games hosted its Adventure Race at Hall County Park in Grand Island.

Competitors had four hours to collect stamps from 40 different checkpoints from different parks across the city.

Grand Island natives Audrey and Jeremy Scott finished in second place amongst co-ed team entrants.

“It feels great, we had people out on the course say, ‘you’re a local, can you give us a heads up?’ I love getting to see different sides of the community that we don’t get to access, because that’s what this gave us the ability to do, is travel in a different space,” said Audrey Scott.

Both were competing in their first ever Adventure Race and credit their teamwork for their success and were both glad to have competed.

“The biggest thing is not coming out with expectations, really for us it was coming out to have quality time together and have fun,” said Jeremy Scott.

The Scotts say they look forward to opportunities to compete in Adventure Races in Grand Island or elsewhere in the state in the future.
