French Lick Scenic Railway’s Dinosaur Adventure Train Returns

French Lick Scenic Railway’s Dinosaur Adventure Train Returns

You have two more chances this year to hop on a prehistoric train ride in southern Indiana.

The French Lick Scenic Railway hosts sever family-friendly events throughout the year that include the Summer Splash Bash Train and the Polar Express Train Ride. If you have ever been a part of any of these fun events at the French Lick Scenic Railway, you know how memorable and entertaining they are. While both events are happening in 2024 again, there is another really cool event that the railway is hosting this year that you might want to add to your summertime bucket list.

The Dinosaur Adventure Train

Hold onto your butts! The Dinosaur Adventure Train has two more dates in 2024. You will have the chance to go back in time to the Jurassic period to learn more about the age of dinosaurs and the amazing creatures who lived with them. According to the French Lick Scenic Railway:

This 2.5-hour long experience is filled with a prehistoric adventure including a train ride to and from the Paleo Adventure Camp. While at the Paleo Adventure Camp explorers will be met with a plethora of activities including face painting, bounce houses, a LIVE reptile experience, a realistic dinosaur encounter, and MORE!

This will be a fun adventure for everyone in the entire family. I’m just curious about one thing. Can I go and dress up like a character from Jurassic Park? I’m gonna do it. I will be the guy looking like John Hammond…

Anyway…back to the French Lick Scenic Railway. The two dates in September that remain in 2024 are September 14th and 15th. You can learn more about the train ride and get your tickets now by clicking here.

KEEP READING: 40 Real Indiana Towns with Quirky, Weird, and Funny Names

Outside the major cities, the Hoosier state is full of tiny little towns you’ve probably passed through on your way to one of those cities. Most of them are likely 100 to 150 years old, or older, and have been around far longer than the large metropolitan areas such as Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, South Bend, and Evansville. Typically, they were started by early settlers who found their way to the state and decided to make it home. Eventually, others would join them, and a community was formed. Over time, as the surrounding areas grew, most of them were folded into those areas and governed by the nearest city or county’s governing body officially making them “unincorporated,” meaning they did not have their own formally organized municipal government.

A scroll through Wikipedia’s long list of unincorporated communities in Indiana shows several of them have names that by today’s standards would be considered weird, quirky, or just downright right funny. These are my 40 favorities.
